What is the difference between PU leather and microfiber leather?

PU leather and microfiber leather are common artificial leather materials, but they have significant differences in material, craftsmanship, and performance.
PU leather is a synthetic leather made of polyurethane, belonging to the second generation of artificial leather. It is made of needle woven or non-woven fabric as the base fabric and coated with polyurethane resin on the surface. It is relatively inexpensive and has the characteristics of wear resistance, flexural resistance, and good breathability. However, its hand feel and durability are not as good as genuine leather.
Superfiber leather is the third generation of artificial leather, which uses ultrafine fiber non-woven fabric as the base fabric, and then adheres to high-performance polyurethane resin. Its three-dimensional network structure is closer to real leather, and its wear resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and comfort are significantly better than PU leather, and the price is several times higher.
From the appearance, PU leather has regular and uniform patterns on the surface, while microfiber leather, due to its more complex fiber structure, can mimic the pores and natural texture of genuine leather.
There are also differences in application between the two. PU leather is mostly used for mid to low end products such as luggage and clothing, while microfiber leather is commonly used in high-end footwear, automotive interiors, and other fields that require high quality.
