The peeling phenomenon of PU leather is related to material quality, usage habits, and environmental factors.<\/p>\n

The fundamental reason for its peeling is as follows:<\/p>\n

1. Material characteristic limitations<\/p>\n

PU leather is essentially a synthetic leather with a polyurethane coating covering the fiber substrate. The adhesive layer between the coating and the base fabric will separate over time, resulting in surface peeling.<\/p>\n

2. Accelerated aging of the environment<\/p>\n

High temperature or exposure to sunlight: Direct ultraviolet radiation can cause the coating to become brittle and crack (there is a high risk of placing it in cars or on balconies in summer).<\/p>\n

Moisture: Moisture infiltration can damage the adhesive layer, especially during the rainy season or in coastal areas where it is prone to mold and delamination.<\/p>\n

Large temperature difference: Frequent thermal expansion and contraction lead to coating cracking.<\/p>\n

3. Physical wear and tear<\/p>\n

Frequent friction areas, such as bag edges and sofa armrests, can accelerate coating detachment due to scratching.<\/p>\n

Good quality PU leather has a peeling cycle of about 3-5 years (normal phenomenon), cheap PU leather has a peeling cycle of about 1-3 years, and high-frequency PU leather has a peeling cycle of within two years.<\/p>\n
